Camera Raw

Adobe Bridge is my new best friend! I uploaded so many pictures to it and played the day away. These two figurines are from Spain and they're made by a company called Lladro. I love Lladro statues and so my parents picked me up a couple when they went a couple years ago. The camera I used was my Samantha a.k.a. Canon Rebel XS, f/3.5, ISO-800, 18mm.
In Camera Raw added more blur to the books in the background and added highlights to pronounce the sheen of the porcelain. And added the black around all the edges.

Panoramic

Panoramic shots 1,2, & 3 used: f/11, ISO-100, 34mm focal length. Snapped with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel xs camera. Its from the spot where you turn into the Rick's building parking lot. I loaded them into Photoshop and presto chango:

Flexible Edits

Three roses- These are also from the Rexburg flower shop. I liked that the three roses where fighting for your eye's attention and wanted to make the one in the background pop more. So I used smart edits and 'glass' the picture and then masked out the two in the foreground.

Kool aid - I was stirred it up and here is the swirled result. I cropped the picture first, adjusted the exposure, threshold layer with more red, and masked out the white swirl.

Flora & Fauna

I was in the gardens on campus when I saw this first seedling sitting on a branch. Gives me hope for spring!
This is my niece's and nephews dog Theodore. Theodore is well loved and plays all day long. When the kids go to bed he crashes as well. Such a sweet puppy!

I really wanted to get some flower shots for this project so I ran down to the local flower shop and they let me go into their storage room and have free range of all their new plants! It was cold in there, but so much fun. The aroma alone was enough to give me a boost during the winter.

Blend it up!

I relly wanted to get a picture that symbolized the inside and outside the temple blended into one. BUT you can't take pictures inside the temple! I was upstairs in the MC building and saw a carpet that looked similar.

The Mean Reds

The Mean Reds
For all the 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' fans I've labeled this color study 'The Mean Reds'. This is picture is my deep shot. I had my lovely friend, Emily, be my model. She wore my red coat and we marched up to the gardens right after the snow fall.
I drove to my Brother-in-Law's house in Rigby and spotted this tagged railroad car. Lucky for me it was still there the next day when I came back with my camera.

This shot I slowed down my shutter speed with no light in the room except for an overhead spot. I then spun a red Reese's peanut butter cup. I love how it came out looking almost planetary.

My last picture is from a sad little Christmas tree I found in a neighbor's yard. It is also my shallow depth shot. Sharp in the front, nice and blurry in the back.

Cut out - Oh no, This is a good example of what happens when you forget to smoosh all your layers before you copy the file! Sad face.
I was having a hard time to find something that would be whole and interesting enough to cut out. On my way to my brother-in-law's house for dinner we came across the frozen tundra with a setting sun - pretty. I then too a chocolate mold that we had to return to him and held it up in front of my camera and viola!

5 Pictures from Past Work

I can't believe how hard it was to pick just 5 pictures! I probably took too long trying to decide, but here ya' go!

This is a rose out of my mom's garden. I was visiting here when a rowdy thunderstorm set it. What was left was gorgeous skies and dew dropped flowers.
The photography company I work for was commissioned to do take some pictures of a wildlife preserve, Desoto Bend. A fellow photographer and myself went out right at dawn on Thanksgiving day morning and got some gorgeous shots of the surrounding wildlife.

This is my cat, Frazer, who turned out to be quite the little model. He's practically a farrel cat who roams the country side and we only see him a couple days out of the week. I loved all the color flecks in his eyes.

Joy was an old roommate of mine who wanted to get into modeling. These were taking last summer. She is so photogenic and it was a real joy to work with her!

Last summer there was a large brush fire outside of Rexburg. I grabbed my camera and got to the highest spot in town. The temple made for a perfect subject matter against the smoke clouds behind it.
