Holi Festival

Welcome to the Holi Festival! The Holi festival, also known as the throwing of the colors, is tradition for the Indian culture and a Hinduism event. Its the celebration of spring and the renewal of earth and her beauty. To celebrate masses of people get together to dance, sing, and throw paint chalk on each other. There just so happens to be a hinduism temple in Spanish Fork Utah. Ben, me, are niece Mara, and her friend Zach drove down to catch a bus that took us to the trail that we walked on up to the Temple.

On the dirt road up to the temple. Thousands of people where already there and covered by mid-day saturday

Here was were you went to pick up the paint packets. We bought yellow, orange, green, red, pink, and purple while listing to one of the bands.

This is just after we showed up and we already have been colorfied!

The festival was so much fun!!

One little puppy was enjoying himself immensely!

Ben got carried away with the green, but he is the older uncle/brother!

One of my favorite photos from the day. This is where people's jackets stayed clean-ish

The only part of Ben that was less painted.

It was a stormy day, but it never rained.

On the bus ride back

Painted jeans

Also a favorite photo!

The Hindu temple is on a hill in the middle of nowhere- so gorgeous.

Back in the real world, still all pretty!

Mara said it wasn't easy being green

Eventually we had to shed our colors, thank goodness for wet-ones!
